Padlet

Padlet is a digital noticeboard for posting and sharing information. You can add text, photos, videos, links, drawings and files. By sharing your board with others, you can work together on it simultaneously.

NB: all AUAS employees can use their AUAS ID to log into Padlet at https://hva.padlet.org/. Select ‘Doorgaan met Microsoft’. There is no need to create a separate account.

Functionalities

  • Visually represent information and correlations through text, images, links, emoticons, written text or drawings on an online board.
  • Share boards with colleagues or students and work on a board simultaneously with others. You can select whether others can edit boards or only view them. Please note: do not share boards organisation-wide; in view of privacy, limit sharing to password or secret.
  • Add comments to messages and reply to each other’s messages through voting, likes, marks or stars.
  • Reuse your own boards or colleagues’ boards by cloning them.
  • Represent information visually on a timeline, world map, storyboard, columns or canvas.

Didactic tips

  • Students can write their questions on a shared board ahead of the lecture.
  • Exchange ideas and share knowledge.
  • Make and share decisions.
  • Reflect together on a lecture or assignment.
  • Activate students.
  • Teaching methodology: the carousel. A statement intended to elicit responses is placed in each corner of the classroom (or of a PowerPoint slide). Students form small groups to come up with arguments in favour of the statements and counterarguments, which they enter on the padlet. After a few minutes, the groups rotate and add to the input of the other groups until all groups have considered all statements. The arguments are collected on the padlet so everyone can see them.
